  • Curtis Collins

    Dr. Curtis Collins was appointed Director and Chief Curator of the Audain Art Museum in Whistler, BC on May 1st, 2018. Collins received his Ph.D. from the Department of Art History and Communication Studies at McGill University in Montreal. He has served as a Director and Curator for a variety of institutions across Canada including the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, Art Gallery of Algoma, Dunlop Art Gallery and Art Gallery of the South Okanagan. Dr. Collins has also been active as an educator at McEwan University, the Yukon School of Visual Arts, First Nations University of Canada and Trent University.

    His exhibition efforts at the Audain Art Museum over the past four years include: Joseph Tisiga: Tales of an Empty Cabin, Reservoir by Rebecca Belmore and Wolves: The Art of Dempsey Bob that will tour to the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Toronto, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and Kelowna Art Gallery. Curtis is the creator and host of the Zoom series Tuesday Night Talks: Seasons 1, 2 & 3 available on Youtube.com and his essay 7idansuu’s Incantation for the Salmon People is featured in the new Knowledge Within: Treasures of the Northwest Coast book issued by the UBC Museum of Anthropology in Vancouver.
